Power Awning Tie Down System

We use 2 bungee cords to tie it down.

Hang the bungee over the corner of the awning structure see photo above. With dog tie outs i couldn t get them twisted into the ground in many places. One on each end just next to the rubber cap that covers the rod on the end of the screen. We can also slip of the bungee cords by hand. They re secured using ratchet straps down to a tie down point on the ground. There are multiple holes for adjusting the pitch of the awning to support water runoff. Tighten the tension of the awning rafter arm.

Then tie one end of the rope to the carabiner clip. Simply screw the spiral stakes into the ground attach the straps to your awning tube and tighten. Cut the 1 8 inch nylon rope to the appropriate size our awning required about 10 feet. I started using dog corkscrew tie outs but couldn t be happier with my switch to the claw tie downs.

With the claw tie downs i ve yet to find a surface that i couldn t hammer them into place except concrete and black top of course. It can be used over the exposed roller tube axle on each end using the vinyl coated hook or looped over the roller tube when the axle is not exposed. So far it has worked several times.
