Pole Barn Sloped Roof

Single slope metal buildings or structures are ideal for a variety of space needs such as storage classic carport loafing shed pole barn or other types of shelters.

In my humble opinion in most cases single slope roofs are neither aesthetically pleasing nor the most cost effective solution. Simplytough metal roof and metal wall panels are built from a high performance cold formed steel framing structural system. Gambrel roofs provide more head room and provide storage space on the top floor. Most standard sized barns look and perform best with a 3 12 pitch.

Neither one of these experiences caused me to see single slope roofs as the less than ideal solution to most pole building needs. Fcp is one of the few barn manufacturers that offer a 3 12 pitch roof without an upcharge. Single slope metal buildings are made with non combustible materials and provide reliability strength. Roof pitch is the term used to describe the angle or slope of the roof.

Each roof type has advantages and disadvantages. Single sloped roof pole barn buildings are often used as loafing pole sheds for animals but with the addition of a portico the building can be transformed into an exceptional piece of architecture. Porticos extend the sloped roof using glulam beams allowing for a covered area that is not only practical but aesthetically pleasing. Roof pitch can impact both the form and function of your barn.

Since many pole barns use conventional rafter framing any roof style can conceivably be used.
