For corner joints that need to be insulated cut a simulated miter joint by cutting the insulation at a 45 degree angle.

The easiest solution is to saw out the caulked joint removing about 1 in.
Then either glue in a proper 3 in to 4 in.
Or even a better idea cap them lol.

Are you perhaps refering to cpvc and not pvc.

Pvc is allowed for cold water distribution outside of the building.
The tee part is left open.
Pipe it out the roof.
Continue this process over the entire length of piping in your attic.

This will allow you to slip the insulation over the pipe corner easily.

Any pipe trough to the attic it call ventilation pipe they are design to pressurize the drain system and exit of the bad gases by entry of the air trough to those pipe water in drain pipe will go faster down to the drain system and also differential of the elevation will cause that hot air and gases will rise up to the air and not in to toilet or sink.

I can feel cold air when ac is running coming out of it and venting into the attic.
I have a customer that we are doing some work in the attic for and i noticed yesterday that the plumbing is vented up into the attic phew and not thru the roof.
The portion of pipe in the garage below the attic is still strong and flexible.
Even if it is insulated.
One of the two pipes has a tee fitting right where it leaves the unit.
Thats pretty much a no brainier.
If it s insulated i d bet that it s being used for hot water distribution.
When a water pipe leaks under a slab it is necessary to jackhammer a hole in the slab to get to the damaged pipe.
