A normal generic assembly could consist of 2x rafter tails acx plywood sheathing and 2x4 or 2x6 blocking between the rafter tails.
When you look at the open eave detail you see the rafter tails the blocking and the roof sheathing that extends beyond the exterior wall.

Doing so raises the eave which prevents it from conflicting with the window head height.
