K style gutters have the capacity to move either 5 520 square feet for 5 inch gutters or 7 960 square feet for 6 inch.

This incline will ensure that water runs downwards sweeping any debris in the gutters toward the downspout outlet. In theory if your gutters are dead level the ice and mud wont be very deep. This is completely normal. Gutters need to be pitched toward the downspouts for the water to flow properly.

You want at least a quarter inch of slope for every 10 feet. If there s standing water it s not pitched properly. To correct this yourself you ll need to measure from the peak to the downspout. This creates a small peak in the middle of the gutter so the water either runs to the left or to the right.
